In recent years Cadillac has been busy making sporty models like various ‘V’ cars, and of course, the ATS 3-Series fighter. Now though, they’ve realized they better stop faking it. Cadillac is not a sporty brand, no matter how hard they try. Cadillacs should be lavish, luxurious saloons – the American Rolls-Royce, if you will – not fast and edgy sports cars.
So they’ve decided to go back to their roots. At the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours they revealed these teaser sketches of a new model that is said to bring the big and luxurious Cadillacs back from the dead.
There are literally no details available yet on what kind of car this new concept is, but rumors suggest it’s a rear-drive luxury saloon to rival cars like Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7-Series.We have also been hearing reports that Gm is pondering the possibility of producing Cadillac Ciel Concept.
The car will be built under the brand’s new slogan “American glamour meets American technology,” and according to Clay Dean, Cadillac director of advanced design, it “reflects back not for nostalgia, but what made us great at the time.”
2013 Detroit Motor Show has been mentioned as the venue for the new Cadillac’s unveiling ceremony.

We already have too many luxury cars and not enough proper, affordable sports car. Cadillac should be commended for the CTS-V and the ATS, not chastised.
Now, I’m not saying that Cadillac shouldn’t be making luxury cars; far from it. But to artificially limit Cadillac as “only” being a luxury car brand is to shove Cadillac back into the old box that it has so amazing sprang out of. We need more cars like the V from Caddy, not less.
