Mercedes Benz UK is now taking orders for the new estate version of the popular CLS-Class for November delivery. The CLS Shooting Brake is available in Britain with two diesel engines and one petrol. You get the 250 and 350 CDI models, but your only petrol choice is the range-topping CLS63 AMG. Not that it’s a bad thing.

All models feature the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, as well as the ECO start/stop function. Performance-wise, the CLS 250 CDI is good for 204hp, while the 350 model offers 265 hp. Both these engine are highly economical with 53 and 47 mpg respectively.

The AMG version on the other hand is all about power and speed. It makes 557 hp and 720 Nm of torque, which means it can go from zero to 60 in slightly over 4 seconds – amazing for an estate car. On the downside, it can only manage 28 mpg.

As for the equipment, you get the same standard features as the normal CLS, plus some extras such as Easy-Pack Quickfold rear seat adjustment; Easy-Pack load compartment cover; and rear air suspension, helping to ensure optimum road holding at all times. In addition to the five seats, the CLS Shooting Brake also features a cargo space measuring up to 1,550 litres. The car also gets some exclusive options though, including Easy-Pack load-securing kit with rear sill protector (£255); privacy glass (£365); aluminum rails (£870); manually folding tow bar (£880); AirMATIC semi-active air suspension (£1,150); and designo American Cherry Wood load compartment with black inlays (£4,030).

Prices for the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake start from £49,360 and go up to £83,030.
