It’s been a while since we last heard of Michael Stoschek’s Ferrari 430-based, Pinninfarina-designed one-off Lancia Stratos replica, known simply as the new Stratos. Now they released a video of the car’s most recent outing at the Rallye Isla Mallorca, where it could not compete, but played the role of the lead car.

The Stratos was driven by the owner Mike Stoschek, with his son Maximilian and Dieter Hawranke as co drivers.

If you are wondering why they didn’t make more of this superb car, well, you have to ask Ferrari why did they put a stop to it. Stoschek was fine with Pinninfarina building more examples of the Stratos, but for some reason the totalitarian Ferrari was not happy with it. And in Italy disagreeing with Ferrari is like disagreeing with the Pope.
