Lamborghini Gallardo at One More Gallardo To Go

Lamborghini Gallardo has been around for like 10 years now, and it hasn’t aged a bit. If anything, the car looks better now than it did when it was first launched. You don’t believe that go check the sales reports. Last year Lamborghini enjoyed an increase of 25 percent in Gallardo sales. Despite all that the Gallardo is close to the end, and a new model is being put together to replace it.

Before it goes though, there will be one last ‘swan song’ special edition.

There has been so many special Gallardos over the years that we frankly lost track of them all. Most of them only had a new paint job or some stripes. There were, however, a couple of models like the Balboni, the Super Trofeo, or the Performante, that could have been mistaken for all-new models. The last Gallardo is reportedly going to be something like those cars. It will have more substance than just a new color and some fancy seats.

Car & Driver speculates that this Gallardo might be a rear-drive version of the Super Trofeo Stradale, or probably a Spyder version of it. The car will be launched in early 2013, and then by the end of the year the Gallardo will be gone for good.
