Overfinch, the world’s finest tuner of Range Rover cars, announced a new package for the current Range Rover Sport. It’s called the GTS-X, and it can be considered as a retirement gift for the Sport, as it will soon be replaced with an all new model.
And it beats a gold watch. The GTS-X kit gives the good old Rangie 575 horsepower and a whole new look.
The tuner, of course, didn’t have a hard time arriving at that power figure, seeing as the Sport features a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 which is pretty potent in its standard form. What Overfinch has done is fit it with a new airbox, exhaust system, and a new map for its ECU. And boom, 575 hp is at the disposal of your right foot.
With that kind of power this big and heavy SUV can go from 0 to 60 mph in about five seconds – astonishing for a car of this type – and reach a top speed of 145 mph flat out.
To keep the car in check at that kind of speed, Overfinch has fitted the car with 22-inch wheels and lowered its suspension. So, yes, almost all of the Sport’s offroad capabilities are ruined. But who cares, really.
A body kit with revised bumper and skirts, a leather and carbon interior package, and some orange paint are other parts of the treatment. The price of this car is just under £150K.
