Porsche too went ahead and made its big Paris Motor Show debut public before more of it leaks to the web. Meet the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, which in brief can be called the Panamera wagon. Well, actually, it’s a shooting brake, like the Ferrari FF or Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake. We think it looks rather splendid, because it’s nothing like the Panamera sedan, upon which it is based.

The Sport Turismo is as practical as Porsches are ever going to get. It is 1,990 mm wide, a low 1,401 mm in height and 4,950 mm long, so it’s a sizable thing, which means it has tons of space inside for people and stuff. But that’s not really important with this car. What is important is its design features, and also the hybrid powertrain that provides the go-juice.

The car has a plug-in hybrid system with a total output of 416 hp (306 kW), pure electric mode for 30 km with top speed of 130 km/h, and overall fuel consumption of 3.5 litres per 100 km, and CO2 emissions of 82 g/km. The system consists of a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 with 245 kW (333 hp), and a 70 kW (95 hp) electric motor fed by a lithium-ion battery pack.

Another interesting part of this car is the interior. Instead of classic instruments, a large central TFT colour display is positioned in front of the driver; it is used to call up and display any vehicle information as needed – from the tachometer to driving data or navigation. Two monitors, one to the left and one to the right of this display, show images from the “exterior mirror” cameras. You also get latest connectivity systems with apps that can control the car’s equipemnt via your smartphone.

Of course if the Sport Tourismo ever got into production, which is probably will, most of these amazing stuff won’t be featured in it.
