After making sure ARK Performance is putting together a good Genesis Coupe race car, Hyundai went on and teamed up with Cosworth to make the ultimate road-going version of the car. The Cosworth Genesis Racing is being made for this year’s SEMA show. It is of course based on the 2013 model, and the 3.8 liter V6 version.
The rear-drive, 3.8 liter Genesis Coupe is a fantastic platform for tuners to work on. The car is pretty fast in its standard form, but there’s also a lot of room for improvement. Hyundai Genesis Coupe is like a Korean muscle car, only it handles much better than one.
Cosworth Genesis Coupe gets a nice engine upgrade treatment consisting of improved thermal management, optimized of induction and exhaust systems, enhanced engine control parameters and Cosworth intake and high-flow exhaust. The result is 389 horsepower, which is about 50 more than the standard, and also 325 lb.-ft of torque. To cope, Cosworth brakes and suspension are also included.
The visual kit on this genesis Coupe is also interesting, what with CGRS Satin/Gloss Blue paint job, new front bumper with Carbon Fiber brake ducts, carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and trunk spoiler, CGRS Edition wheels, and some logos and graphics.
This is a full upgrade package, which means the interior is modified as well, with CGRS steering wheel, pedals, shift knob, two tone sports seats, and two-tone trimming.
Cosworth Hyundai Genesis Coupe is being made by the U.S. branch of the British tuner. Genesis is not available in the UK.
