Volvo quietly teased and even more quietly revealed the V60 Racing wagon in Brazil. They could have made a bigger fuss. After all, this is a car with a rather significant motorsport history. The V60 Racing is the spiritual successor to the Volvo 850 Estate that was a star in BTCC back in the 90s.
Developed mainly as a Touring Car, the V60 Racing features a tuned version of Volvo’s 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter T5 engine with 250 horsepower. It also uses a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission which is new, 18-inch lightweight wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires.
Inside the cabin the car’s stripped out of any luxury amenity and instead gets a roll cage and racing bucket seats, plus a racing steering wheel. The absolute highlight of the V60 Racing, however, is the blue and white racing livery, just like the one on the legendary 850.
