The ’40 Years of M’ at the Nurburgring was quite a ceremony for Bimmer fans. Not only the company unveiled the super exclusive BMW M3 DTM Champion Edition, they also showed the M6 Gran Coupe to the fans for the first time in full.
And now thanks to guys at BimmerPost we too get to see the car live, ahead of its official debut, which is soon. The M6 GC is quite a car. It is taking on the mighty Mercedes CLS63, and from what we have heard, it is every bit as good as the Merc. But it would have been nice if BMW made it a little different than the M6, on which it’s based. The 560hp engine, the drivetrain, the interior, they are all exactly the same.
That said, it’s a cracking super saloon. It is as good as the M5 in all the technical aspects, but it’s better looking. So the M5 remains the first choice for those who want understated performance, and this for those who want to show it off a little bit.
Official world debut for the M6 Gran Coupe is planned for 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
I have to say, that car is something! Would love to try out it’s handling!
