Volkswagen announced a light power upgrade for the diesel-powered Amarok BiTDI that boosts the output from 163 PS to 180 PS. The package also includes the BlueMotion for improved efficiency, and a new eight-speed automatic transmission that improves the truck’s towing capability to 3,200 kg.

The auto ‘box is exclusively available as a Highline model with BlueMotion Technology and permanent 4MOTION for a retail price of £25,105 in the UK. These models also get 420 Nm of torque instead of 400, and do 35.3 mpg with 211 g/km CO2.

You can have that engine with a six-speed manual transmission as well, in which case prices start at £19,795. If you go for the still available 122 PS 2.0 liter TDI engine, you can snatch an Amarok for as little as £18,795.

The new versions of the Amarok also come with new features, including Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, heated washer jets, tachograph preparation, cornering fog lights and 19-inch alloy wheels.
