Before taking the wraps off the new Cadillac ELR at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, General Motors is teasing the car one last time. They just released this photograph of a heavily camo’d ELR going about its business – testing, mostly – driving through the mountains of Southern California.

This could be a sign that the design of the production Caddy ELR is different than what we saw as a concept. Technologically, this electric vehicle with extended range should be almost identical to the Chevrolet Volt.

“Cadillac customers are going to enjoy the unique features ELR will bring to the market.  We’re going to change the way people think about luxury and electrification,” said Chris Thomason, ELR chief engineer.
