Audi Expanding “RS Plus” Lineup

Audi RS Plus 545x364 at Audi Expanding RS Plus Lineup

Not to be outdone by AMG and their new S-Model lineup, Audi is reportedly planning to expand its range of RS Plus cars with lower weight and more power than the standard RS models. It will begin with a new Plus version of the RS6.

The Audi RS6 Plus will be getting over 600 horsepower, a healthy increase over the current 552, and different handling characteristics. The RS lineup will also be lighter, as seen with the Plus version of the Audi R8 V10, which is 50 kg lighter than the standard R8. That means using more carbon fiber in the making of the future Audis. Plus cars could also get a different suspension setup.

Question is, will these efforts be enough to match the performance of AMG’s S-Model series, which as you know enable executive saloons to hit 100 km/h from standing still in 3.6 seconds.
