Audi is taking autonomous driving very seriously, by the looks of things, acquiring a license to test these cars on public roads in Nevada, and showing up at CES 2013 with a fully functional demo car. The piloted driving technology is not a full autopilot feature – yet – but it does a very cool job: it enables the car to go into a parking lot, find a spot, park itself, and then gets out and go pick up its owner. All you have to do is flick a few switches on your smartphone. It’s like hiring a ghost as your personal valet; only you don’t have to pay him!
Check out a demo of this action after the jump.
Great stuff! Top engineering ;-).
Freddy Have you seen this ?!
Very cool. It looks like it could be a production car soon. Wouldn't it be cool to have a car park itself?
that's wild!!!
it would be good for those of us
who are not very skilled at parking.
but it's kind of weird too…
if someone stole your phone,
they could steal your car!!
Welcome to the future.
