Everybody loves the performance that the new 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG delivers, especially the souped up S-Model version. The same cannot be said about the looks, though. The E63 is, after all, an executive saloon, and these cars are bought by people who don’t really like to stand out.
In order to prevent this group from buying a BMW M5 instead, AMG is going to add the Business Line Package to the list of its Performance Studio options. What this package does is giving the E63 a tamer, more conventional look.
The idea is that you have an E63 – one of the most powerful and fastest saloons in the world with 557 hp in normal versions and 580 hp in the S-model – that looks pretty much like a normal E-Class. The Business package will remove AMG’s signature quad exhausts, and also do away with the aggressive front fascia.
While it is cool to have a normal looking E-Class that is fast as hell, it begs the question why would you want to spend a whole lot more on this car while you can get the same looks and 80 percent of the performance with an E500?
