The new Corvette Stingray will eventually be turned into a Le Mans racer to replace the old and hugely successful C6R in various international racing series. Here’s a a preview of what the Stingray would look like wearing its racing suit.
The Racing Stingray, aka C7R, will be getting different bumpers with a large air splitter at the front and even larger diffuser at the back. The fenders will also be extended and vented, while the sides will be getting new sills. Last but not least, there will be a big rear spoiler.
Just like the C6R, the new car will be a good-looking brute. It will also get the new Corvette’s 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine, but due to rules and regulations, it will be making around 600 horses.
Handling-wise, the new car will almost certainly be better than the C6. The suspension settings will probably be the same, but it has a better packaging and weight distribution, and is also more aerodynamic.
