Volkswagen is teasing a new version of the Golf mk7 – almost certainly for a 2013 Geneva Motor Show debut – which appears to be the new Golf R. You can tell through the teaser picture that the car has large air intakes in its bumper, and that is an R signature.

Like the previous version, the new Golf R will get its power from a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, hooked up to an all-wheel-drive system. It will be more powerful than the outgoing model, though, with the an estimated output of around 300 horsepower.
