Cigarette Racing and Mercedes AMG are taking their partnership to the next level by unveiling the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept – the world’s fastest and most powerful electric boat. A few days ago we had the Cigarette Huntress inspired by the G63 AMG, which also is a high-performance boat. .
The Cigarette AMG Electric uses the same sort of powertrain as the Mercedes SLS AMG Electric supercar, and boasts an awe-aspiring output of 1656 Kilowatts and a maximum torque of 3,000 Newton metres. The 38 foot (11.6 metre) long powerboat is also finished in the same AMG Electricbeam magno color as the SLS and proudly carries the AMG logo.
The electric drivetrain in this boat has a very clever architecture. There are two drive units, each featuring six independent electric motors. At the rear of the boat, each drive unit has its own transmission, one on the left and one on the right. A glance at the engine data proves that the boat is fitted with the twelve compact, liquid-cooled permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors.
As for the performance, AMG Powerboat can reach a staggering 99 mph. It comes with two 22-Kilowatt on-board chargers that can top up the batteries in seven hours. You can also have it with four chargers, which reduce the charging time to three hours.
Cigarette AMG Electric Powerboat is on display at the Miami International Boat Show.
