Once again Evo Magazine’s Harry Metcalfe brings us a fascinating behind-the-scene video from the development of a new model. This time the car in question is the BMW i8 hybrid sports car, and Harry gets to tag along with one of BMW’s engineers as he hits the snow to do some winter testing.

Sadly, Harry is not yet allowed to show us the interior, and the exterior is camouflaged. But he does reveal a great deal of information about the car’s final technical specification:

The production i8 is going to have a three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. They are controlled by a super computer which decides which motor should be active when, and makes the car front-, rear-, or all-wheel-drive depending on the conditions.

The BMW i8 will be priced like a Porsche 911, will go like a Porsche Boxster, and will use fuel like a Panamera diesel.
