Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series, the ultimate version of the one of the world’s maddest supercars, will hit the market in a few months sporting a hefty price tag of 249,900 Euro. That is about $330,000 USD, which is nearly $120K more than the SLS GT.
So you are probably asking yourself is the Black Series worth the extra money? Well, if you have $200k to spend on a car, chances are you have no problem spending another 100 grand to get the ultimate version of it. From a value for money point of view though, the Black Series may not make that much sense.
What you get is 630 horsepower, 40 more than the SLS GT, which gives you a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h. Black Series AMGs have never been about the straight line performance though. They drive in a special way and look crazier than the normal models.
The SLS Black comes with a revised AMG RIDE CONTROL performance suspension with coil-overs and stuff that are guaranteed to make the car a better performer around corners. It certainly has less tendency now to chew its own tires all the time. The car also looks quite awesome, what with those massive spoilers and wings and flared wheel arches. You could say it is a bit infantile, but hey, it’s a supercar.
