The BMW M135i is one of the best hot hatchbacks out there in terms of handling and performance. Granted, it is absolutely hideous, but the driving fun is more than make up for the way it looks. Now, Sportec showed an upgrade kit for it at the Geneva Motor Show that makes it even greater to drive.
Visually, they settle for BMW M Sport stripes and some new wheels, because they realized the M135i’s looks cannot be improved so easily. So instead, they focus on the performance, boosting the car’s 320 horsepower powertrain in a two-stage program.
The first one uses an ECU upgrade kit to extract 355 horsepower and over 500 Nm of torque, which is good, but not compared to the stage 2 which adds 200-cell catalyst and downpipe. With that the little M135i makes a full 370 horsepower, and becomes capable of making 100 km/h from zero in 4.6 seconds – 0.3 seconds quicker than standard – and reach a stop speed of 275 km/h.
The cost of this package if 4,300 Euro.
