One of the best selling recording artists in America and multiple Grammy Award winner Usher is in Germany visiting the AMG’s headquarters in Affalterbach. He is a big fan of Mercedes Benz and AMG, and is going to attend the Geneva Motor Show with them.

The man with the red shoes had a great time at AMG’s workshop, as he got to assemble the final parts of a M156 V8 engine that goes into his Mercedes SLS supercar. He puts his name on the engine’s identifying plaque as the builder. In fairness he did worked on the engine.

Usher has a Mercedes CLS63 AMG as his daily driver and a Mercedes Sprinter as his family car. He is also getting his mom a Mercedes. So it’s fair to say he like the brand.

After making his engine, AMG boss ushered Usher to the test track where he got to test drive the new Mercedes A45 AMG. As a hot hatchback powered by a 265 kW (360 hp)-450Nm the 2.0-litre four-cylinder AMG turbocharged engine, the A45 is not a car an American is familiar with, but Usher apparently liked it a lot:

“I can hardly wait to get behind the wheel”, said Usher. “It looks so absolutely cool and sexy, and I’m really excited about experiencing the power of the first AMG four-cylinder turbo engine.”
