The new Viper may have become sophisticated now, and it may have learned a thing or two about how to handle like a proper car, but it is first and foremost a muscle car. And the most important thing for a muscle car, after the horsepower figure, is the quarter mile time. Thanks to guys at Drag Times, we now have an official time for the 2013 SRT Viper, and it’s good.
Well, it’s not brilliant, given the fact that we’re talking about 640 horsepower V10 engine here, but still impressive given the condition. The SRT Viper recorded 11.1 Seconds @ 127.3 mph in its best run.
The Viper also recorded a 0-60 mph time of 3.1 seconds, a 0-100 mph time of 7.1 seconds and 60-130 mph acceleration in 8.08 seconds. The test was done with and without Launch Control, and it didn’t a significant difference. Drag Times guys reckon that with a set of better tires – shorter drag radials or Michelin Pilot Cup Sports), the Viper can easily get into the 10?s.
