Not to be outdone by Mercedes Benz, who announces a special edition for Japan every other week, BMW has come up with a exclusive version of the 5-Series for the land of the rising sun. It is called the ‘Exclusive Sport Edition’, and it is available as both sedan and estate.
Engine-wise, there is nothing special about this model, as you can have it in 523i and 523d guise; both 2.0 liter four-cylinders, the former a turbo’d petrol and the latter a turbo’d diesel. Where things get special is the list of standard equipment for this model. The Exclusive Sport edition 5er comes with the full M-Sport package that on the outside adds sport bumpers, dual exhausts, sport grille, and 19-inch wheels. The M treatment inside the cabin offers sport seats covered in Cinnamon Brown leather and a sport steering wheel.
Available colors for the exterior include white or a shade of dark blue known as the carbon black. Other highlights include a Head-Up Display system, upgraded sound system, piano black trims, and ‘Exclusive Sport’ badges.
