Lamborghini took the wraps off a new special edition of the Aventador super car at the Shanghai Auto Show. As the name suggests, the Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario celebrates the 50th anniversary of the brand, even though they are going to make 100 units of it.

The name also hints at the power of this car, which is 720 horsepower, which is 20 more than the standard Aventador. Setting this car apart from the normal models is a body kit consisting of redesigned front and rear bumpers and sills, featuring fancy details inspired by recent Lamborghini concepts, namely the Aventador J and the Veneno.

This limited edition also comes with a special two-tone paint job with Giallo Maggio yellow as the base, matte black adorning the components such as the mirrors and lower body parts, and glossy black on the wheels.  The interior features Nero Ade black leather combined with Terra Emilia brown and Giallo Quercus yellow. You also get the classic Lamborghini Q-Citura upholstery pattern. All Lamborghini models built in the 2013 anniversary year feature the 50th anniversary emblem in the cockpit.

Performance-wise, the LP 720 goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). It certainly isn’t worth the extra money over a regular Aventador from the performance point of view, but it’s collectible, and that makes it special.
