Lotus just released a nice video announcing the launch of a drop-top version of the Exige S this summer. Poised to the ‘Ultimate Roadster’, the Exige S Roadster is in final stages of testing, which means it is visiting the Nurburgring a lot.
Sure, dropping the top on a fine sports car like the Exige is going to a negative effect on its handling, but with a well-sorted chassis you can minimize the drawbacks and enjoy the air in your hair without any major compromise on driving fun.
If anyone can pull this off, it’s those plucky guys at Lotus. Now that they no longer have Bahar’s overly ambitious project to make five supercar at once pressuring them, they can return to do what they do best: making small and efficient sports car for real enthusiasts – not posemobiles for rich guys in Hong Kong and Dubai like Bahar wanted.
