Mercedes Benz UK released the pricing details of the new SLS AMG lineup in the British market; a lineup that includes the SLS GT Coupe and the mighty new Black Series. The GT is a lightly upgraded version of the normal SLS, but the Black is a heavily tricked-out, road racing model, offering a totally different experience.

The Mercedes SLS Black Series gets the same 6.3-litre V8 AMG as the rest of the range, but in this car the output is boosted to 631 hp and 635 Nm of torque, dropping the 0 to 60 mph time to 3.6 seconds. But the main highlight of this car is the weight saving.

It features a carbon fiber bonnet, lightweight aero kit, lightweight lithium-ion battery, and a few other bits and bobs that have been on a diet. As a result it weighs no more than 1,625 kg (70 kg less than the SLS AMG). It also features tweaked ride control with lowered ride height, unique wheels, and a bespoke interior with lots of Alcantara.

The price of this bad boy is £229,985.

As for the SLS GT, this one too delivers satisfying performance with an output of 591 hp (20 hp over standard SLS AMG), coupled with  650 Nm, resulting in a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and top speed of 199mph. Revised suspension, new wheel sand tires and some subtle visual upgrades such as smoked lights and carbon parts are among the other highlights.

The SLS GT also boasts a great interior, featuring an AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather and Alcantara with 12-o’clock mark and red contrast stitching; designo Exclusive leather in black with red contrast stitching in either single-tone or two-tone; AMG floor mats with red edging; red seat belts; and Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG, including 11 high-performance speakers.

The price tag for the GT reads £165,030.
