Ferrari FT12 Concept 1 600x394 at Renderings: Ferrari FT12 Design Study

Designer Aldo Schurmann has come up with this design study concept and he believes that it fits the bill for a Ferrari 458 Italia replacement. We’re not sure about that, first and foremost because it borrows more than one cue from other cars, and second, it doesn’t seem to have much in the way of art.

Called the FT12, this design study has the profile of a Lotus, and its rear-end seems to be lifted straight from the Hennessey Venom GT, which is also a Lotus. The design has some interesting features though, like the form of the side intakes and how they are absorbed into the rear fenders. They look pretty cool, if not very contemporary.

As a design the FT12 is a brilliant job and Aldo’s rendering skills are also top-notch. But as a 458 replacement, no. This isn’t it.
