Audi announces the pricing and spec of its high-performance four-door coupe, the RS7, in the American market. It starts from $104,900, which is not bad for a 560 horsepower luxury saloon with such amazing looks. But as is the case with German cars, by the time you put a couple of options on it, the bill becomes quite massive.

Luckily, the RS7 comes as standard with pretty much everything you can imagine. so you don’t have to spend more money on features. Only if you like fancier interior trim or larger wheels, or really advanced safety features, you are going to have to write a bigger check.

The RS7 comes with Audi’s award-winning infotainment system Connect. Free for six months and for $15 a month thereafter, this system offers Google Maps and Streetview, weather information, news and live fuel prices, Google Voice Local Search, and traffic updates. It is the most comprehensive navigation system you can get. You also get Audi side assist, which monitors the blind spot areas, but adaptive cruise control, Audi pre sense plus, and Night Vision are optional extras.

In terms of technicalities, the RS7 features a twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI V8 engine developing 560 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission and Quattro AWD system, the car catapults from 0 to 60 in just 3.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 174 mph.

Sadly, the same AWD system that makes the RS7 such a good performer has a negative effect on the car’s handling. Compared to the CLS63 AMG and the M6 Gran Coupe, the Audi feels numb and less fun to drive. But there are people who prefer the security and straight-line performance of this car to the fun and engaging drive of the Merc and the BMW.
