Not that it wasn’t obvious, but sources close to Citroen are confirming now that the stunning DS3 Racing Cabrio – designed to wow the crowds at this year Goodwood Festival of Speed – is indeed heading into production. They will make only 200 units, and each will cost around £30,000.
The Racing versions of the DS3 are the company’s homage to their Racing division, namely the World Rally Team. They come with powerful engines, extra equipments, and unique visual features that set that apart from normal models.
The DS3 Racing Cabrio is no exception. The concept version is finished in a cool matte black color with red stripes, red spoilers, and matte black grilles. Those, in combination with the black canvas roof, create a wicked look. It also get 19-inch wheels that give it a bolder presence.
Backing up those bold looks is a 207 horsepower 1.6 liter THP engine, enabling the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in about seven seconds. SO no, it is not as hot as the looks suggest it should be.
That brings us to the asking price. £30K sounds like a lot for what Citroen has done to the DS3 Cabrio to create the Racing. Then again, it is a limited edition. So you’ll probably get most of your money back when it comes to selling it.
