Citroen announced the launch of its latest concept car, a Racing version of the DS3 Cabrio, at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We have point out that Racing in Citroen’s book is like a trim level – a special edition version – honoring the Citroen Racing division, not an actual racing car.
Boasting a super cool Moondark matt textured grey paintwork with special gloss black 19” alloy wheels and Black Chrome inserts on the handles, boot trim and door mirrors, the DS3 Cabrio Racing is a tribute to the success of Citroen Motorsport in the World Rally Championship.
Those special features add up to the DS3’s standard artsy details, such as the distinctive DS patterns on the roof and on the door mirror housing, or Carmine Red brake calipers, wheel hubs, and side stripes, to create a unique-looking cabrio hatchback.
Main highlights of the interior includes bucket seats with a DS watchstrap design in three types of fabric – Napa full-grain leather, DS-embossed leather and Alcantara – and special DS pearl top-stitching, featured in the Carmin shade for the first time, on the seats, dashboard and gearshift.
Like the DS3 Racing, the cabrio version is powered by a 1.6 liter turbo engine developing 202 brake horsepower, and features tarted-up running gear, brakes and suspension.
