It’s not like that spy photographers are not paying any attention to Mercedes’ new models, but the fact is they have so many new cars in the pipeline that it is hard to spy on all of them! So a Mercedes-Benz America executive took matters into his own hands and published the images you see here.
They show the new GLA-Class crossover and the S-Class Coupe, parts of a large test convoy dispatched to Death Valley for some hot weather experiments. They have also brought along some of the rival cars. You can clearly see a BMW X1 i the background.
Both cars are heavily camouflaged, but you can make out a few details about the overall shape of the car, especially in the case of the GLA. We have seen this car in concept form before, but the production version seem to be substantially different.
As for the S-Class Coupe, or the new CL-Class if you like, it seems to be way more than just a two-door S-Class. The car gets its own face with different headlights and grilles, and unique side profile. The interior and the engine lineup will almost certainly be the same though.
