Sport exhausts can make a big difference in the way a normal, or even a sports car, sounds. But are they effective on a supercar such as the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which already sounds like a mixture of thunder and machine gun fire? Well, the video after the jump will provide you with the answer.
The red F12 here is fitted with Novitec Rosso exhaust, and the yellow one is stock:
With supercars like this, the exhaust system is more about enhancing the performance of the engine than altering its soundtrack. We had seen this before with the Mercedes SLS. The stock exhaust sound good enough for the sport units not to make a huge difference. You are better off spending the money they cost on, I don’t know, another car!
The magnificent Ferrari F12 is powered by a direct-injection 6262 cc 65° V12 that makes a maximum power output of 740 CV at 8250 rpm, and max torque of 690 Nm, 80 per cent of which is already on tap at 2500 rpm.
