General Motors released the first official interior image of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade ahead of the car’s October 7 New York City reveal. Those who remember the interior design of the first-gen Escalade are going to be amazed by the new one. There is nothing special about it, but compared to that car, it looks like heaven.

Bi-color leather and real wood trims are used generously to style the spacious cabin of the new Caddy Escalade, giving it a traditional Cadillac look and feel. A touch of modernity is then added by employing state-of-the-art advanced technology such as touch sensitive buttons and a large infotainment screen. And you gotta love that steering column-mounted gear shift.

In truth though, it is not all sweetness and light. As we now know from experiencing Cadillac’s Cue system and those touch-sensitive buttons, they are not really very good. They work, but not as good as traditional buttons and knobs. And the CUE system falls short of what the rivals, especially Europeans, can offer.

Still, none of that really matter. The Escalade is all about personality, and size. The new model is not going to disappoint its loyal fans.
