A few weeks ahead of its official debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show, BMW revealed the new 4 Series Convertible. Now we get the official UK pricing and specs of the car. The four-seater convertible comes with three engines, and starts from £36,675.
That is the on the road price for the BMW 420d SE Convertible powered by a 2.0 liter diesel engine with 184 ho and 380 Nm of torque, which can return more than 55 mpg. Spend £39,515 and you can get the BMW 428i SE Convertible with the state of the art 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine, developing 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It does over 40 mpg and goes from 0 to 60 in 6.4 seconds.
The range-toping version, which costs £44,970, is the BMW 435i Luxury Convertible. This model has the N55 turbo I-6 engine with 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Zero to 60 in this 4 series takes 5.4 seconds, and the fuel economy is not that shabby either at 34 mpg.
BMW 4 Series Convertible comes with a folding metal roof which can be raised or lowered in just 20 seconds and at speeds of up to 8mph. The optional wind deflector can now be stored behind the seats when not in use, and a new Air Collar system blows warm air around the necks of front seat occupants for open-air driving on cooler days.
