BMW 4 Series Hybrid Confirmed for Los Angeles Debut

BMW 4 Series 600x424 at BMW 4 Series Hybrid Confirmed for Los Angeles Debut

An official statement by Los Angeles Auto Show confirmed 22 world debuts at the American event. What caught the eye of every motoring enthusiast among these debuts it the introduction of the BMW 4 Series Hybrid. Looks like the hybrid version beat the Convertible to the stage.

There is of course no technical details available on the BMW 4 Series Hybrid right now, but if the existing Activehybrid 3 model is anything to go by, it should get an electric motor hooked up to an in-line turbo six. That said, BMW’s “i” department has a superb hybrid system ready to be launched in the new i8. A variant of that – although it would be too expensive for a 4er – could be used in the new model.

The BMW 4 Series Hybrid will make its debut along with 4 Series Coupe, i8, i3, 5 Series Sedan and 5 Series Gran Turismo.

As for the other major debuts planned for the 2013 Los Angeles auto Show, we can mention the Jaguar C-X17, Cadillac Escalade, a high performance model from Nissan and NISMO, three vehicles from Volkswagen, including the e-Golf and five from Audi, as well as more than two dozen green vehicles including models from Acura, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen, ranging from alternative fuel models to brand new plug-ins.
