Mazda cars are not known to be very tuner-friendly. They boast unique styling that makes them quite difficult to change and improve. But not to be outdone by the rivals, and to showcase the possibilities with the new Kodo design language, they are bringing a number of tricked-out models to this year’s SEMA show.

Mazda’s 2013 SEMA lineup consists of two Mazda3 and two Mazda6 models, all fairly lightly customized. Mazda apparently decided to play it safe, so rather than hiring outside help, they had a go at improving these cars with subtle body kit, special paint jobs, large wheels and lowered suspension.

That is the good thing these tricked-out Mazdas. They got real, down to earth tuning treatments which can give the owners of the 3 and the 6 a lot of ideas to improve their car using available aftermarket parts and at a reasonable cost.

The Mazda6, especially, appears to welcome spoilers and wheels, while lowered suspension seems to work wonders with the sportier Mazda3. More details about Mazda’s tuned cars will be revealed at the SEMA show later this month.
