The latest special edition Mercedes-Benz for the Japanese market is based on the SLK 200 model. Normally, special editions boast about their power, or good looks, or stunning interiors. But this car is all about its radar-based safety features.
The Mercedes SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition, as the name suggests, comes with a full radar safety package, consisting of Distronic Plus, Brake Assist Plus, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. They all work in tandem to make sure the accident never takes place, instead of relying solely on the passive safety gear to save the occupants after it does.
Apart from that, the SLK 200 Radar has a full AMG sport kit including bumpers, sills, spoilers, and 18-inch wheels and tires. Available exclusively in Polar White, the car also has the Magic Sky Control panoramic roof, which complements the Bengal Red Nappa leather upholstery and solar red ambient lighting inside the cabin.
Power comes from a standard 1.8 liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 185 hp and 270 Nm of torque. Mercedes SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition is limited to 100 units.
