If the new 2014 BMW X5 with its bewildered face looks a bit boring to you, don’t despair. BMW has just released a collection of nice M Performance Parts for the car that improve the look and feel of the big SUV, and adds a touch of sport to its mixture of performance and practicality.
Performance-wise, only the X5 xDrive35i gets a kit for now, and it’s a simple ECU tweak that gives it an extra 20 hp and 50 Nm. You can also get it a silencer kit that alters the soundtrack of the car. That is about it.
Visually, you have got a lot more to play with. There are blacked-out grilles, carbon mirror caps, aggressive aprons with splitter up front and diffuser out back, new side sills, and of course, lots and lots of M badges. Chrome or carbon tailpipes and a set of 21-inch M wheels are also available. If you get the performance brakes, new calipers will be provided as well.
Moving inside, you get the M steering wheel and gear lever with carbon fiber inserts and Alcantara, sport pedal set, and branded floor mats. Prices for BMW X5 M Performance Parts are yet to be announced.
