In many ways Los Angeles Auto Show is like Dubai Motor Show. People who visit the show are more interested in shiny, fancy sports and super cars. A futuristic concept may not receive that much attention. Nevertheless, Honda is going to unveil a new fuel cell concept (FCEV) at the show, previewing a 2015 production model.

Fuel cell electric vehicle are gaining momentum in America, as more and more car makers are investing in this technology as a more viable alternative to the plug-in EVs, which to be honest do not seem to be the ideal.

With a fuel cell vehicle you never need to plug your car in and wait a couple of hours for it to get charged up. It comes with its own onboard generator which runs on hydrogen and makes no emissions other than H2O gas, which is water vapor. The only issue is implementing a hydrogen distribution infrastructure.

Honda’s FCEV concept at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show hints at the styling and aerodynamic characteristics of a production model set for launch in 2015. Hopefully by then the governments have come up with a solution to make Hydrogen as readily available as fossil fuels. If they manage to do that all the problems we are facing today will be vanished, and petrol will be saved for the exotics and super cars.
