German tuner Wimmer RennSport (RS) announced the launch of their most unusual project yet. Normally they work on exotic German cars like Porsche and AMG Mercs, but this time they decided to upgrade the KTM X-BOW, a radical track car from the Austrian bike maker.

Now, the standard X-BOW comes with a 2.0 liter turbo four-cylinder engine from Audi with 285 HP and 420 Nm. That is a decent amount of power in what appears to be a go kart on steroid. Still, one may argue that it could do with a bit more power, maybe 300.

Wimmer agrees, except their definition of ‘a bit’ is a bit different than the rest of us. They gave the X-Bow an additional 150 horsepower for a total 435 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It’s been done by employing new forged pistons, designed turbo charger, upgraded intake system, and a sport exhaust system featuring 100 cells sports cat with Y-pipe.

Thanks to the new-found power, the KTM X-BOW GT by Wimmer RS goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, to 200 km/h in 11.7 seconds, and on to a top speed of 246 kmph (153 mph), which is 15 km/h more than the standard car.
