This year’s Los Angeles Auto Show is going to be a rather significant event, as it will see the birth of a new sports car, and demise of another. The car celebrating its birth is the Jaguar F-Type Coupe, and one bidding farewell with a special edition is the mighty Mercedes SLS AMG.
On these occasions, both car makers are building the necessary hype for this model in the run up to the L.A. Auto Show. Jaguar released this new F-Type Coupe teaser shot you see above, promising a drama-filled reveal event, and Mercedes sent out a few more pictures of a ‘special’ SLS AMG you see below, which we know is going to be the Final Edition.
The F-Type Coupe is essentially the same as the C-X16 concept in terms of styling, and it will be getting the same engine lineup as the Roadster version. That means you can choose between a 340 hp V6 a 380 horsepower supercharged V6, and 490 horsepower supercharged V8.
As for the Mercedes SLS Final Edition, the swansong version of the gullwing super car will feature a new carbon fiber body kit, new black wheels, unique interior trim, and as is AMG’s habit, probably more power and torque as well. It is sad to see the SLS go, but an exciting replacement is already in the works.
