Volkswagen announced the launch of the R-Line version of the CC four-door coupe in the British market. The handsome saloon gets a lot of extra goodies in R-Line guise, and it still represents good value for money, starting from under 30 grand.

For £29,505 GBP you get a Volkswagen CC R-Line with a 2.0 liter 210 PS engine with a six-speed manual gearbox. The R-Line treatment builds on top of the well-appointed GT trim, and adds R-Line front grille with round fog lights, R-Line front bumper, R-Line logo in the radiator grille, sill extensions, LED daytime running lights and 18-inch ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels. Inside the cabin Volkswagen CC R-Line features R-Line multi-function steering wheel and trim pieces.

There is another engine option available, a 177 PS 2.0 liter TDI. Both engines can be had with either a six-speed manual, or VW’s brilliant six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. The petrol engine returns up to 38.7 mpg on the combined cycle, while the manual TDI returns a very frugal 58.9 mpg thanks to features like battery regeneration and Stop/Start systems.
