Volkswagen announced the prices and specs of the Passat 1.8T lineup in the American market. The family sedan whose biggest selling point is being German is available in the 1.8T S, 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition, 1.8T SE, 1.8T SE with Sunroof, and 1.8T SE with Sunroof and Navigation versions, and starts from $20,895.

That price is for a Volkswagen Passat 1.8T S with a five-speed manual transmission. The Wolfsburg Edition, equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, will cost you $23,965.

Volkswagen Passat 1.8T is powered by the Mexican-built turbocharged and direct-injection four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. With a manual gearbox, this engine has an EPA estimated rating of 24/28/35 mpg, while the automatic can do up to 34 mpg on the highway. Performance-wise, it makes possible a 0 to 60 time of 7.9 seconds.

The rest of the Volkswagen Passat 1.8T range include the SE model which starts from $24,475 with the five-speed manual, the SE with Sunroof costing $26,395, and the SE with Sunroof and Navigation which has a base price of $27,555. All models also have an $820 destination charge.
