Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing 600x339 at Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing Confirmed for 2014 Release

Citroen confirmed the production of the Cabrio version of the DS3 Racing hot hatch, revealed as a concept model at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It took Citroen a few months to finally out with it, but the car is now all set for production and will be launched into the European market in early 2014.

The ingredients of the Racing DS3 are familiar to hot hatch aficionados. It comes with a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser, as well as flared wheel arches and chrome tailpipes. Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing gets an exclusive paint job called the Moondust Grey matte, which is also used inside the cabin. On the outside it is complemented with gunmetal grey wheels and red stripes down of the sides of the car.

The only thing setting this car apart from the standard normal DS3 Racing, apart from the striping strategy, is that the Cabrio comes with a powered fabric roof that slides open like a very large sunroof. It is actually a very large sunroof. The black finish of the roof works well with the unique paint work.

The interior of the DS3 Cabrio Racing is garnished with Moondust Grey and carbon-look trim pieces, as well as Crimson Red accenting and a numbered plaque, because this is a limited edition car.

In terms of performance, the Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing is powered by PSA’s 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 210 horsepower. The car also benefits from sport chassis and suspension developed by Citroen Racing.
