At first glance this appears to be a Photoshop job. After all, the McLaren P1 is a rare beast, and not one you can toy with. But German tuning giant Gemballa makes it absolutely clear on their Facebook page that they have indeed got a P1, and they’ve fitted it with their own GForged-One wheels.

They didn’t reveal if this is the start of a tuning package for the P1 or just something to show off with. There isn’t much you can do to improve this thing anyway. The P1 has a 916bhp hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo V8 engine and a couple of electric motors. The aerodynamics is also spot on perfect. Any sort of kit or exterior modification will definitely make it worse.

We’re not even sure about the effect of these wheels on the car’s handling. But this McLaren P1 with Gemballa GForged-One is the first of its kind in the world. That is to say the first McLaren P1 to get an aftermarket treatment. The wheel measure 20” on the front and 21” on the rear axle, and they can be had in either Gunmetal or Black Magic finish.
