Today at the Huston Auto Show Jeep revealed new ‘Altitude’ models of the 2014 Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. The Altitude models feature a blacked-out theme that proved very popular with the fans when it was first revealed on a Cherokee two years ago.
The 2014 Altitude Jeeps will join the already available Compass Altitude and Patriot Altitude when they launch this spring. While these models share the overall black-out theme, there are differences that make each one unique.
First we have the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Altitude – available with 4×2 or 4×4, and with 2.4-liter Tigershark or 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6 engines – which comes with gloss black grille surrounds, roof rails, front fascia lower applique and badging and a black daylight opening (DLO), as well as 18-inch blacked-out wheels. This model starts from $24,995 for 4×2 models and $26,995 for 4×4 models.
The Grand Cherokee Altitude, only available with the 190 horsepower V6, takes the Altitude treatment to the next summit with gloss black bezel inserts for the front grille, fog lamp bezels, lower front fascia applique, badging, rear step pad surround and 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels. It also gets platinum chrome grille texture, bright dual exhaust tips, lower body-color fascias, wheel flares and side cladding, a body color antenna and an SRT-style roof rail. 2014 Grand Cherokee is priced from $35,290 for 4×2 models and $37,290 for 4×4.
As for the Wrangler Altitude, the treatment includes a matte black grille with gloss black throats, head lamp rings and Jeep badge, gloss black front and rear bumper appliques and 18-inch seven-spoke aluminum wheels, a standard body color Freedom Top and matte black “WRANGLER” decal on the hood. The V6-powered Wrangler is priced from $31,595 for two-door models and $35,395 for Wrangler Unlimited models.
