Yesterday Audi art of their plans for this year’s CES even tin Las Vegas, and the highlight of it all was a new version of the Quattro concept called Laserlight, because it features laser headlights. The car’s not going into production, but just so you know what you are missing, here’s a nice rendering of a cabrio version of it.
The Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight is technologically advanced car, featuring an e-tron powertrain with 515 kW of power and 2.5 l/100 km (94.09 US mpg) fuel economy; laser headlights that leave all previous systems in the dark with its higher performance as well as new display and operating systems with cutting-edge electronic performance.
The car pays homage to the original Audi Quattro of 1983. And like the original car, it is hardly a looker. Those new laser headlights do not help it either. That said, there is something quite charming about the Cabrio version you see in this rendering. The same applies to other hot Audis. The RS5, for instance, is not that desirable in Coupe format. But it’s an absolute delight as a Convertible. Maybe Audi should make all their cars convertible!
