It is not exactly a secret that the Scion FR-S (known to those outside America as the Toyota GT86 or Subaru BRZ) is rather disappointing in terms of luxury and style. Not that you could expect much luxury from a sports car that costs $25K. Nevertheless, that issue is now addressed with the introduction of the Scion FR-S Monogram series.
The limited edition Monogram series (also available for the tC) adds a bunch of high-end features to the car, and they are not just cosmetic upgrades. Mind you, it is a rather expensive treatment, this Monogram business. But still, you have to spend a lot more if you want to fit them yourself using aftermarket parts.
The Scion FR-S Monogram comes with leather seats with Alcantara inserts, BeSpoke Premium Audio with navigation and connected services, and smart Key with push button start. These features alone bring the FR-S up one or two classes. But that’s not all.
You also get HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, dual-zone automatic climate control system, heated front seats and heated outside mirrors. Other bits and bobs include a color-keyed rear spoiler, frameless rearview mirror, rear seat armrest, and carpet cargo mat.
Scion FR-S Monogram is limited to 2000 units (2,500 for the tC), and costs $27,400 for the manual, and $28,500 for the automatic.
