Mercedes C Class Four door Coupe 600x376 at Rendering: Mercedes C Class Four door Coupe

Mercedes-Benz invented the whole four-door coupe thing with the first-gen CLS-Class. After that, the design was copied by almost all car makers, and these days they are introducing the four-door coupe design philosophy to segments that Mercedes hadn’t thought of. The new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, for example, reveals a gap in Mercedes’ lineup.

The filler would be a four-door coupe version of the new 2015 Mercedes C-Class. As you can see in this speculative rendering here, such as thing would look quite amazing and would definitely give the Bimmer a good run for its money. The trouble is, producing a new model is that simple.

Sure, the prospect of a Mercedes C-Class Four-door Coupe sounds intriguing, but you have to take into account that unlike BMW, Mercedes does not separate the sporty versions of the C-Class from the sedan and wagon. A sexier, sportier four-door C-Class would definitely mess with the sales of the standard sedan. And that’s not something Mercedes really wants. C-Class sales record is one of the things they like boasting about, and they’re definitely not going to gamble on it.

For now, let’s just marvel at the beauty of this imaginary Four-door Coupe C-Class and wait to see is Mercedes has the stones to make it happen.
