Mitsubishi is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Lancer Evo in the British market with a special edition called the FQ-440 MR. The future of the Evo is uncertain, as some say Mitsu is going to kill it off, while others say it is going upper-class and may get a hybrid powertrain. For now though, you can enjoy the good old Evo in this new flavor.
As the name Mitsubishi Lancer Evo FQ-440 suggests, this version is powered by a 440 horsepower engine with 412 lb.ft of torque. The power is the result of employing a HKS turbo and Janspeed exhaust system with a high-flow sports catalytic convertor, intake system, and intercooler.
The car also comes with a 6 Speed Twin Clutch Sports Shift Transmission (SST), and benefits from Alcon braking system. Naturally, you get the Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC), which in combination with the lowered suspension – featuring Eibach components – enhances the Evo’s already brilliant handling characteristics.
As for the visual features, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo FQ-440 is distinguished by the virtue of its 18” BBS alloy wheels. Inside Recaro leather bucket seats, leather steering wheel, and a whole host of equipment, including cruise control, Rockford Fosgate premium audio system, Bluetooth, and climate control. Other bits and bobs fitted to this special edition model include bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, PIAA motorsport silicone windscreen wiper blades, and a data recorder.
The Evo FQ-440 MR is priced at a well-rounded £50,000. It only comes in Frost White.
